Disney Production Studios

Besides
running theme parks, Disney continues to make movies and television
shows at a tremendous pace, at studios around the world.
The Imagineers have taken advantage
of this and turned several of the studio backlots into theme parks.
The first of these, Disney-MGM
in Florida, features a tram tour through a mining disaster of
spectacular proportions.

The recently opened Walt Disney
Studios in Paris, features:
- the special effects used in
Armageddon,
- a Television Production
Tour, and
- "Cinemagique," an emotional
journey through 100 years of movies.
These "backlot" parks all center
on the art of animation, Disney's earliest claim to fame.
In California, the Imagineers
used the original Disney animation studios to anchor another unique
themepark, Disney's California Adventure.
Here, after watching Disney artists
at work, you can enter the Sorcerer's Workshop and create
your own animation.
The rest of the park, entered
through a scale model of the Golden Gate Bridge, celebrates
the multi-cultural wonders of the state of California.
- You can sip wine at Seasons
of the Vine,
- dine at a Boudin Bakery
or Tortilla Factory.
- Paradise Pier recreates
a seaside boardwalk, complete with roller coasters and carousel.
- A Bug's Land, takes
visitors to the world of Disney/Pixar's hit, It's a Bug's
Life, with insect-themed rides.
- In the live stage show at Playhouse
Disney, Rolie Polie Olie does the cha-cha-cha.
